By the Upper Crust Catering kitchen

For a family reunion, choose two hot mains, three or four sides and a dessert tray, and order by the tray. A menu for 60 people with Pan Fried Chicken, BBQ Pulled Pork, potato salad, baked mac and cheese, green beans and desserts is $886, or about $14.77 a person, before 9.25% sales tax. Each tray serves about 20, so the math is easy to scale.
Why trays work for a reunion
A reunion has a big age range, long hours and people who show up late. Trays suit that. Guests serve themselves, a late arrival still finds food, and you choose how much to put out. Trays have no minimum, so you can order for 30 or for 100.
A menu for 60
- 3 trays Pan Fried Chicken, $80 each, 20 pieces: $240
- 2 trays BBQ Pulled Pork, $95 each, serves 20: $190
- 2 trays Slider Sandwich Buns, $12 each, 24 count: $24
- 2 trays Potato Salad, $49 each: $98
- 2 trays Baked Macaroni & Cheese, $59 each: $118
- 2 trays Buttered Fresh Green Beans, $49 each: $98
- 2 trays Assorted Dessert Tray, $59 each, 40 pieces: $118
Total $886, or $14.77 a person. With 9.25% sales tax it is $967.96. Hot trays can go in Chafing Dish Sets at $17 each. For 60 guests, a Buffet Menu 1 at $18.99 a person is $1,139.40 for the food, and a buffet starts at 20 guests.
Scale it to your family
- For 30: drop to 1 chicken, 1 pulled pork with 1 tray of buns, and 1 of each side. Add a second dessert tray if kids will be there. Food comes to $80 + $95 + $12 + $49 + $59 + $49 + $59 = $403, or $13.43 a person.
- For 100: 5 trays of each main and side is plenty with a few trays left over. Start with the planning guide in how much food for 50 people and double it, then call us.
