The fine print, without the fine print.

How deposits, balances, cancellations, delivery and tax work. Every number here is the same one our quote tool uses.

Deposits

A deposit confirms your date and puts your event on the kitchen calendar. It is 25% of the estimated total for most events and 20% for weddings. The deposit is non-refundable and is credited toward your final balance. You can pay it by card from the link in your quote.

Balance due

The balance is due 7 days before the event, once the final headcount is confirmed. We invoice you with a card link; cheques and ACH are welcome for larger events. Headcount can go up until the balance is paid; it can go down by no more than 10% after the deposit.

Cancellations and changes

Your deposit is non-refundable and is credited toward your final balance. If you cancel with enough notice (at least 30 days before a wedding, at least 7 days before any other event), any other payment you have made is refunded, less costs we have already incurred for your order. With less notice, all payments are non-refundable.

Weather, illness and venue problems happen. Call us as soon as you know and we will move the date if the kitchen has room, at no charge. Menu changes are free until the balance is paid.

Service charge on staffed events

Events with our servers, a carving station or on-site set-up carry a 20% service charge on food and rentals. It is shared with the team who work your event. Drop-off orders and pick-ups have no service charge. Staff time is billed at $35 per server per hour with a 4-hour minimum, plus a $50 event production fee.

Minimum order

Buffet packages, shower packages, breakfast and wedding packages, and every other package start at 20 guests, and boxed lunches at 20 boxes. For a smaller group, order by the tray or platter (no minimum), or call us and we will find a way.

Delivery and pick-up

Delivery is a flat fee by town, from $40, listed on the areas page. Towns not listed are about $2.50 per mile. Buffet deliveries include set-up: chafers lit, table laid, and a text when the driver is five minutes away. Pick-up at 109 E Hydraulic Ave, Yorkville is free. Boxed lunches and trays need 3 days notice; staffed events 14.

Sales tax

Illinois and Kendall County sales tax of 9.25% applies to food and rentals. Staff time, service charge and delivery are not taxed. Tax-exempt organisations: send your certificate with the deposit and we remove it from the invoice.

Allergens and dietary needs

Every dish page lists the major allergens it contains and the diets it suits. Our kitchen handles wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish and sesame, so we cannot guarantee any dish is free of trace amounts.

Tell us about allergies and restrictions when you book. Special plates are prepared separately, labelled, and the kitchen sheet prints them in bold. For severe allergies, call us to talk it through.

Privacy

We use your name, phone, email and event address to quote, cook and deliver your order, and to send a confirmation and one follow-up asking how it went. We do not sell or share your details. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Ask us any time to delete your details after the event.
