Sandwich is our westernmost regular stop, fourteen miles out Route 34 past Plano, and the one DeKalb County town we deliver to at the standard $40. It is a small town with a big fair week every September, and most of what we bring is for family: reunions, retirement dinners, funeral luncheons and church suppers.
The van leaves Yorkville on Route 34, passes through Plano and arrives in Sandwich with the food still hot. Call (630) 553-9533 three days ahead for trays and boxed lunches and two weeks ahead for anything with servers. For pick-up, the kitchen at 109 East Hydraulic Avenue in Yorkville is the same road in reverse, with no delivery charge.
Sandwich orders comfort food, and that is what we cook best (see Entrées & Sides by the Tray). Yankee pot roast is $125 a tray and serves 20. Pan fried chicken, hand breaded and oven finished, is $80 for 20 pieces. Baked meatloaf and gravy is $74. Mashed potatoes are $49, buttered fresh green beans $49, scalloped potatoes $49, and dinner rolls and butter $9.99 a dozen. Homemade apple crisp is $49 for a small pan. For 20 or more, Buffet Menu 1 at $18.99 per person gets you two of those entrees, three sides and bread, set up in chafers.
For a funeral luncheon, call us and we will tell you what we can do on the notice you have (see Funeral luncheons). We set it out at the church hall or the house so the family can sit.
When relatives come to town for the Sandwich Fair in September, a tray order feeds a full house without cooking. A sandwich platter of ham, smoked turkey and roast beef is $79 (see Hors d'oeuvres & Platters), macaroni pasta salad is $59, a cheese and sausage tray with crackers is $79 for 120 pieces, and home baked cookies are $45 for 40. All of it is cold or room temperature, so it waits for people to come and go.
Our Thanksgiving Dinner is $22.99 per person, minimum six, turkey breast through pumpkin swirls, ready to reheat at home with instructions (see Thanksgiving Dinner). Order by November 19. Pick-up is at the Yorkville kitchen on November 25, which from Sandwich is Route 34 east through Plano. Add a pumpkin pie for $16.99.
