Oswego is six miles east of our kitchen on Route 34, so the van is there and back all week. We deliver boxed lunches to the offices along Route 34 and Douglas Road, set up graduation buffets in the subdivisions off Orchard Road and Route 71, and bring shower platters to homes near the river. Delivery anywhere in Oswego is $40.
Oswego has two public high schools and a lot of big families, so the last weekends of May and the first weekends of June are crowded. If your party is on one of those Saturdays, call early (see Graduation parties).
The usual order for 50 guests is Buffet Menu 1 at $18.99 per person (see Buffet Menu 1): BBQ pulled pork and baked mostaccioli, with American potato salad, buttered green beans and baked macaroni and cheese, plus fresh baked homemade bread. Add chafing dishes at $17 each and plates, napkins and silverware at $1.50 per person, then set it out on the patio and go talk to your guests. Our note on feeding 50 people walks through quantities.
Boxed lunches are $14.50 for the Basic and $16.50 for the Executive, with a 20-box minimum (see Boxed Lunches). Each comes on a fresh baked French roll with chips, a cookie and condiments; the Executive adds fruit, potato salad or cole slaw and a brownie or cookie. Keep sandwich choices to three for 20 boxes and four for bigger orders and you avoid a 10% charge. We need three days' notice, and the driver texts when five minutes out so someone can meet the van at the door.
The Shower Package is $21.99 per person: croissant sandwiches with three fillings, tropical bowtie Caesar, pinwheels, a spinach bread bowl with veggies and a fruit display with crudites. For a smaller shower, build it from the platter menu (see Hors d'oeuvres & Platters): pinwheel sandwiches at $79 for 60 pieces, a seasonal fruit display at $74 and chocolate covered strawberries at $69.
Our Thanksgiving Dinner is pick-up only at the Yorkville kitchen, $22.99 per person with a six-person minimum, turkey through pumpkin swirls, ready to reheat at home (see Thanksgiving Dinner). From Oswego it is a quick run down Route 34 on November 25. Order by November 19.
