Montgomery sits on the Fox River between Oswego and Aurora, eight miles from our kitchen, and the van passes through it most days on the way north. We deliver trays and buffets to the subdivisions west of Orchard Road, lunches to the shops and offices along Route 30, and party platters to the older neighborhoods by the river. Delivery is $40 anywhere in Montgomery.
We get to Montgomery two ways: Route 34 east to Orchard Road and north, or on through Oswego to Route 31 along the river. Either way it is a short trip, which matters for hot food. Tell us the time you want to eat and we work backward from it.
Montgomery orders are often a birthday, a first communion or a graduation in the yard, 25 to 40 people, and the family wants to serve it themselves. The tray menu fits that. Italian beef au jus with hot and sweet peppers is $90 for the small tray or $150 for the large, and a dozen fresh baked French rolls is $11.99. Cocktail meatballs, Swedish, Italian or sweet and sour, are $64 for 100 pieces. Add a cheese and sausage tray with crackers at $79, bacon ranch pasta salad at $59 and brownies at $59 for 35. Chafing dishes are $17 each if you want the beef to stay hot for a few hours.
For the businesses along Route 30 and Route 31 we deliver boxed lunches at $14.50 and $16.50 with a 20-box minimum (see Boxed Lunches), or a deli platter at $95 with meats, cheeses, fixings and buns so a crew builds its own. Breakfast works too: the Basic Breakfast Buffet is $16.99 per person with eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries and fruit, plates included, or a breakfast tray of ham, sausage and cheddar is $69 and serves 20 (see Breakfast & Brunch).
For a sit-down family dinner, Buffet Menu 2 at $19.99 per person brings chicken marsala, our famous seasoned pork chops or sliced roast turkey with sage stuffing, plus three sides and bread (see Buffet Menu 2). For Thanksgiving, our Thanksgiving Dinner is $22.99 per person, minimum six, ordered by November 19 and picked up in Yorkville on November 25 (see Thanksgiving Dinner). Eight miles is an easy errand the day before.
