What to know before you order

A short run west on Route 34

Plano is close enough that we can be flexible. Need a funeral luncheon set up at a church hall tomorrow? Call (630) 553-9533 and we will tell you honestly what we can do (see Funeral luncheons). Want to pick up trays for a Saturday party and save the fee? The kitchen at 109 East Hydraulic Avenue in downtown Yorkville is a straight shot east on Route 34.

Church dinners, funeral luncheons and family gatherings

The food Plano orders is the food we have cooked longest: pan fried chicken, hand breaded and oven finished; baked meat loaf with gravy; Yankee pot roast; baked mostaccioli. By the tray that is pan fried chicken at $80 for 20 pieces, meatloaf and gravy at $74, Yankee pot roast at $125 for 20, mashed potatoes at $49, buttered green beans at $49 and dinner rolls at $9.99 a dozen. For 20 or more, Buffet Menu 1 at $18.99 per person covers two entrees, three sides and bread, and we set it up in chafers so it holds through a long afternoon.

Smaller gatherings: order by the tray

A lot of Plano parties are 12 to 18 people, which is under our 20-guest buffet minimum. For a small group it is better to order trays, which have no guest minimum. Two entree trays, two side trays and a dessert tray feed 20 with leftovers. Assorted home baked cookies are $45 for 40 and homemade apple crisp is $49 for a small pan that serves 12 to 15.

Thanksgiving pick-up from Plano

Thanksgiving Dinner is $22.99 per person, minimum six, with everything from the turkey breast to the pumpkin swirls ready to reheat at home (see Thanksgiving Dinner). Order by November 19, pick up at the kitchen on November 25. From Plano it is a short drive down Route 34, and a whole pumpkin pie is $16.99 if you want one in the car.

“My wife and I had Upper Crust for our wedding. They did an absolutely fantastic job! Extremely professional, great communication, fantastic food, great service, and they are very willing to do the little details if needed (flexible!). They made us feel less stressed, we could trust them, and we feel like we received great value for the price we paid. I would recommend this caterer to anyone!!”

“We had some catering done by Upper Crust for our son's high school graduation. We had used them previously for a wedding reception as well. The food is always excellent and there were so many people who said how good it was. I have always been impressed with this company. They are kind and courteous and will always answer all your questions. Great job!!!”
