What types of event can you cater?
Upper Crust is a full-service catering company. Corporate gatherings, grand openings, gala dinners, holiday parties, weddings, anniversaries, bar and bat mitzvahs, fundraisers, christenings, engagement parties, birthdays, after-wedding brunches, and anything else you can dream up.
What style of catering do you offer?
Cocktail receptions, passed hors d'oeuvres, food stations, buffets and plated dinners. Drop-off, pick-up, or full service with staff.
How far in advance do I need to book?
As far ahead as you can, especially for May, June, September and December weekends. Boxed lunches and trays need three days' notice; staffed events two weeks. For short notice, call 630-553-9533 and we will do our best.
Can you deliver food to my office?
Yes. Boxed lunches, hot buffets and breakfast arrive at the delivery time you choose. We deliver across Kendall, Kane, Will and DuPage counties.
Can you cater a dinner party at my home?
Absolutely, we do it all the time. Why drive when we can come to you, so you can relax with friends, family or clients in your own home.
Do you offer tastings?
We do. We prefer that you visit our kitchen to see the facilities and enjoy a tasting in our showroom, where we can talk through the details of your menu and event.
Some guests have allergies or dietary restrictions. What do I do?
Tell us in advance. Our chefs prepare separate meals for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal or allergy-specific guests. There is a dietary notes box on every order.
Can you provide staff for my event?
Certainly. Our servers set up and maintain the buffet, clear tables, and break down and pack your leftovers. Staff is $35 per hour per server with a four-hour minimum, plus a 20% service charge shared with the whole team.
Do you have set menus or can I customise?
Both. The buffet menus let you mix and match entrées and sides online. For something completely unique, our event manager will build a custom menu, given enough time for planning and trials.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. Weddings take a 20% deposit of the estimated cost. Other events take 25%, paid online when you accept the quote. Deposits are non-refundable and are credited toward your balance, which is due seven days before the event.
Is there a minimum order?
Buffets, shower packages and every other package start at 20 guests, and boxed lunches at 20 boxes. Trays and platters have no minimum. Smaller group? Call us and we will help.
What about delivery charges?
Delivery starts at $40 and is based on mileage and how much set-up is involved. Each town page shows its flat rate.
