Dessert table ideas: trays you can order instead of baking, with counts and prices

Pick three kinds, not ten

A table looks full when it has variety in shape and color, and it stays easy when there are only a few trays to manage. Aim for one chocolate item, one bright or fruity item, and one small thing people can eat in two bites.

When dessert is the only sweet at the party, we plan about 3 pieces a guest. When there is also cake, plan 2. These are planning guides, and a party that runs into the evening eats more.

20 guests. 60 pieces. Cookies, $45, 40 count, plus Cream Puffs, $45, 50 count. That is 90 pieces for $90, $4.50 a guest.

50 guests. 130 pieces for $149, a little over 2.5 a guest:

100 guests. About 300 pieces, $405, or $4.05 a guest:

Setting it up

We do not sell decorations, stands or cake. You bring the cake stands and signs, and we bring the food. A few practical ideas that cost nothing:

• Put the tallest tray at the back and the fruit at the front.
• Add small plates and napkins. Disposable Appetizer Plates & Napkins are $0.99 a person.
• Add a coffee service, because Coffee is $89 for 50 servings.
• Serve the Apple Crisp warm at one end, so it does not sit next to the cold trays.

Pick-up and timing

Trays and platters have no minimum. We need about three days' notice. Pick-up is at the kitchen in Yorkville, or we can quote delivery when you order. How many desserts per person for a dessert table?

About 3 pieces a guest when dessert is the only sweet, and about 2 when there is a cake too.

Can I mix trays?

Yes. Each tray is its own price, so mix as many as you like.

Do you make custom cakes?

No. Our dessert list is trays of bars, brownies, cookies, cream puffs, strawberries, apple crisp and fruit.

What is the cheapest dessert tray per piece?

Cream Puffs and Cookies at $45 each. The puffs are 50 count, so that is 90 cents a piece. Cookies are 40 count at about $1.13.
