Dessert catering: trays, brownies and cookies for parties

Dessert catering at Upper Crust means homemade dessert trays you pick up at the kitchen in Yorkville, or have delivered at a quoted price. Trays start at $45 for 50 Chocolate Drizzled Mini Cream Puffs and go to $69 for Pretzel Brownies and Chocolate Covered Strawberries. For a party of 50, an Assorted Dessert Tray plus a tray of cookies is 80 pieces for $104 before tax.

Every dessert, with cost per piece

Cost per piece is the tray price divided by the piece count, rounded to the cent. Use it to compare trays that count differently.

• Chocolate Drizzled Mini Cream Puffs, $45 for 50 count, about $0.90 each.
• Assorted Home Baked Cookies, $45 for 40 count, about $1.13 each.
• Lemon Bars, $59 for 40 pieces, about $1.48 each.
• Assorted Dessert Tray, $59 for 40 pieces, about $1.48 each.
• Brownies, $59 for 35 count, about $1.69 each.
• Cheesecake Squares, $59 for 35 pieces, about $1.69 each.
• Pretzel Brownies, $69 for 40 count, about $1.73 each.

Every dessert tray is vegetarian. Strawberries are gluten-free. The cream puffs are the lowest cost per piece, and the Assorted Dessert Tray is the easiest if nobody can agree.

How many to order

After a meal, we plan 1 to 2 pieces a guest. Guests pick 2 when the tray has small bars and 1 when it has something rich, like pretzel brownies. If dessert is the main event at a shower or open house, plan 3.

• 25 guests: 1 tray is 35 to 50 pieces. Brownies at $59 is enough for 25 with a second piece for some.
• 50 guests: about 75 pieces. Assorted Dessert Tray $59 + Cookies $45 = $104 for 80 pieces.
• 100 guests: about 150 pieces. Cream Puffs $45 + Assorted Dessert Tray $59 + Lemon Bars $59 + Cookies $45 = $208 for 170 pieces.

Add 9.25% sales tax. Check the arithmetic: 50 + 40 + 40 + 40 = 170 pieces, $45 + $59 + $59 + $45 = $208.

Variety matters more than volume. Two or three kinds of dessert look generous, while one tray of one kind runs out and leaves the late guests with nothing.

Serving

Trays come ready to set out. Serving Tongs & Spoons are $1 each. Disposable Appetizer Plates & Napkins are $0.99 per person. Dessert trays have no minimum and no small-party surcharge, and standard orders need 3 days of notice. Call (630) 553-9533 or send the date and headcount on the quote form.

Can I order just dessert?

Yes. Trays have no minimum, so a single tray for an office or a family party is fine.

How far ahead do I order?

Standard orders need 3 days of notice. Staffed events need 14.

Do you make cakes?

Cakes are not on our menu. We sell homemade trays of bars, brownies, cookies, cream puffs, cheesecake squares and strawberries, plus Pumpkin Pie.

Are the desserts nut-free?

Our kitchen handles tree nuts and peanuts, so we cannot guarantee any dish is free of trace amounts. Tell us about allergies when you order.
