A cheese and cracker tray from Upper Crust is $69 for the Assorted Cheese Tray with Crackers, 60 pieces, or $79 for the Cheese & Sausage Tray with Crackers, 120 pieces. As a rule of thumb, count 5 to 6 pieces a person if the tray is the whole appetizer course and 2 to 3 pieces a person if there is dinner coming after. Trays are for pick-up in Yorkville, or we can quote delivery. They need about three days' notice. Call or text (630) 553-9533.

The two trays

  • Assorted Cheese Tray with Crackers: $69 per tray, 60 pieces. Cheese and crackers on one of our black lacquer party trays.
  • Cheese & Sausage Tray with Crackers: $79 per tray, 120 pieces. The same idea with sausage added, and twice the pieces for $10 more, so it is the better value for a bigger room.

If you also want something fresh on the table, Fresh Vegetable Crudités is $59 and serves 25 to 30, and the Seasonal Fresh Fruit Display is $74.

How many people does one tray feed?

These are planning numbers, not promises. Guests eat more when the tray is the only food and when the party runs long.

  • Tray is the only food (open house, cocktail hour): about 5 to 6 pieces a person. The 60-piece cheese tray covers 10 to 12 people; the 120-piece cheese and sausage tray covers 20 to 24.
  • Tray sits next to a meal or a buffet: about 2 to 3 pieces a person. The cheese and sausage tray then covers 40 to 60 people.

Worked examples

25 guests, cocktail party, no dinner. 25 x 6 = 150 pieces. One Cheese & Sausage Tray (120) plus one Assorted Cheese Tray (60) gives 180 pieces for $79 + $69 = $148, or $5.92 a person. With 9.25% sales tax that is $161.69.

40 guests, birthday with a buffet. 40 x 3 = 120 pieces, so one Cheese & Sausage Tray at $79 plus a vegetable tray at $59 is $138, or $3.45 a person before tax.

60 guests, graduation open house. Two Cheese & Sausage Trays at $158 keep a cold table going all afternoon. Add the crudités and fruit and the whole cold table is $291 before tax.

Make it a full spread

Cold trays work best next to one or two hot items. Look at our appetizer guide for hot trays like Cocktail Meatballs, or add Bruschetta with Garlic Toast Points, 60 pieces, $45. For a full party menu with headcounts, see our party food guide.
